Stillness Workshop for Change Makers + Activists

April 13, 2019 @ 1:00 pm

$30

There’s no doubt that beginning (and maintaining) a personal stillness practice is super challenging. It requires a good deal of self-discipline, will power, commitment and community. There needs to be just enough sense of ‘benefit’ to outweigh the challenges of reallocating time away from our outward facing routines and attention.

Prioritizing the inner life can be particularly challenging for activists + change makers who are so highly attuned to the consequences of systemic inequalities. We can get lost in the fight and forget to recharge and reconnect with the inner essence of what drives us to do our work in the world.

So let’s help one another!

In this 2-hour workshop we will address: basic structures of practice, ways to keep motivated, common ‘pitfalls’ to be aware of and explore our desire + resistances about it all.

You do not and cannot do this alone!

Let us come together to strengthen and develop routines to better tap into inner super powers!

Facilitated by Amira Glickman – founder and director of the Sacred Rest Stop, a regenerative community gathering space in East Austin. She has been a practicing Universalist Sufi since 2009 and has over 20 years of experience with individual and group retreats, and mystical
contemplative practice. She is also the founder of the Social Justice Activist Meditation gathering that meets bi-monthly in Austin, TX at Casa de Luz.
